Will

Will

Will in the New Psychology of DREVO

Will is a person’s ability to control himself and make conscious choices.

It allows a person to turn intentions into actions, remain true to their values, and continue moving towards their chosen goal regardless of internal and external obstacles.

  • If consciousness answers the question:
  • "What do I choose?"
  • then the will answers:
  • "Am I capable of implementing this choice?"
  • It is the will that connects thought with action.

What does the will do?

Will helps a person:

  • manage your actions;
  • manage your attention;
  • manage your habits;
  • overcome fear;
  • delaying immediate gratification for a long-term goal;
  • maintain discipline;
  • implement the decisions made;
  • be responsible for your own life.

Will makes a man his own master.

Will and freedom

Freedom does not begin when all restrictions disappear.

Freedom begins when a person is able to choose his actions, and not be completely subject to instincts, emotions, habits or external pressure.

Therefore, will is the basis of inner freedom.

The better a person can manage himself, the more opportunities open up to him.

Will and consciousness

  • Consciousness helps to see different options for action.
  • It analyzes, compares and makes decisions.
  • But the solution itself is not enough.
  • Without will, even the right decision can remain just an intention.
  • Consciousness determines direction.
  • The will begins to move.

Will and subconscious

The subconscious controls habitual automatic actions.

Willpower allows us to change these automatic programs.

Every time a person consciously chooses a new way of behavior and repeats it regularly, the will gradually forms a new habit.

Over time, the new habit becomes part of the subconscious.

Thus, will is the main instrument for personal development.

Will and spirit

In the New Psychology of DREVO, the spirit determines the direction of a person’s life.

  • Willpower helps to move in this direction.
  • The Spirit answers the question:
  • "For what?"
  • Will answers:
  • "What needs to be done now?"
  • Therefore, a strong spirit without will remains an intention.

And a strong will without values can be used for both creation and destruction.

A mature personality combines will with responsibility, moral values and respect for life.

How is willpower strengthened?

  • Will develops in the same way as a muscle develops.
  • It is strengthened through regular practice.
  • The main methods of its development are:
  • keeping promises made to yourself;
  • discipline;
  • gradual increase in complexity of tasks;
  • the ability to bring things to completion;
  • development of self-control;
  • attention management;
  • overcoming the habit of putting off important things;
  • conscious refusal to take actions that contradict one's own values.

Every conscious action strengthens the ability to manage oneself.

Signs of a developed will

A person with a developed will:

  • makes decisions independently;
  • keeps promises;
  • able to manage one's emotions and behavior;
  • does not give up at the first difficulties;
  • knows how to wait for results;
  • maintains direction of movement;
  • is responsible for the consequences of his actions.

The main principle

The will does not exist to suppress man.

Its task is to harmonize desires, emotions, reason and values, directing them towards a conscious goal.

The better a person can manage himself, the freer his life becomes.

Definition

Willpower is a person's ability to consciously control themselves, make informed choices, and consistently implement them in actions, remaining true to their values and accepting responsibility for the consequences of their actions.

In DREVO's New Psychology, will is viewed as the link between consciousness and action. It is through will that knowledge becomes action, action becomes habit, habit becomes character, and character becomes the foundation of a creative life.
